Microsoft Live Search Submission Broke

Thanks for stopping by my personal blog on Marketing Technology! Quite a few folks wrote me to let me know that, no matter what they tried, they could not submit their domain to Microsoft Live Search Submission. Any submission results in the following error:

Please enter a valid URL with the format: http://www.example.com/

I wrote their feedback form tonight to let them know. Hopefully they’ll get it back up soon.

Sigh… how hard can it be to test your form?

I got the same thing… amazing. Just to see if they left out some characters I had tried it in several different ways, i.e., without the www or http etc, and nothing worked. You would think the lack of receiving traffic on their end would give them a clue, perhaps no one has pointed it out yet?

Just FYI, as far as I can tell, this has been this way for quite a while. I first encountered the problem a few months ago. I had originally thought it might be a “this only works if you’re using IE7″ issue, but we’ve tried with nearly every browser on the planet with the same results.

Good luck getting it fixed!

Just tried the form tonight, with the same results. Happened to be using IE7.

Don’t feel so bad..They accidentally dropped my site completely off of Live Search after this upgrade, and I cannot even resubmit my site because the submission is broken. My site was ranking on most keywords the 1st and 2nd page. When they get the submission fixed, I will have to resubmit all of my pages and start from scratch again…bummer!

Yeah, I thought I was going crazy when I tried submitting my site, as well. Crawled the Web about this issue and seems like people have been having this problem as early as Jan. 07. How does MS plan on competing with Google for SE real estate when they can’t even keep their submission page in working order?
