Interesting to read about the ruling on online gambling. Here in Norway they are discussing ways of controlling internet gambling, as all gambling is supposed to go through one single provider. One suggested way is to make it illegal for banks to transfer funds to gambling websites.

I wonder if this ruling in effect means that a state cannot legislate online gambling?

Though illegal, it’s pretty common here. I do know that many of the online gambling sites are actually owned by Americans… who now live in Antigua and the other countries. This is an interesting spin… if you have an international commerce site and free trade agreements, is it actually illegal if any single country says it it’s allowed?

I love the Internet! (Though I don’t do any online gambling.)
