The $8.88 Campaign, 88 Sites, and 8 Wishes
Paul Sanchez got one of his wishes, an interview with Paul Orfalea, the founder of Kinkos and a fellow dyslexic. It’s an amazing interview and really provides you with a different perspective on life and business. My favorite line:
The A students work for the B students, the C students run the businesses, and the D students dedicate the buildings!
The other part of this that’s amazing is Paul’s take on business and leadership. He states that his job isn’t to work, it’s to think. He doesn’t maintain a busy schedule because it interferes with his thinking. He doesn’t read or use email. He watches and learns.
Paul Sanchez has a month to go and his #1 wish is to raise $1,000,000 for children with learning disabilities. I’ve never had a learning disability but have watched the devastating affects it has had on some close friends and their ability to feel good about themselves and their ability to fit in. It’s a great cause and Paul is bringing to light that it’s nothing that can’t be overcome as long as its identified early and treated.
Paul was gracious enough that he has commented on my site and mentioned it on his simply for supporting his cause. Here’s my challenge to you… donate $8.88 and do a post about 8 Wishes to get the word out. Donating $8.88 lets Paul know that it originated from our campaign. You can donate using the following widget (and you can post the widget on your site):

Good luck on your campaign!
I continue to be amazed and impressed by what I am finding in the blogosphere, the people I meet and what they are doing. Last week I briefly commented on a site that I found called 8 wishes - definitely…
So I clicked over to ChipIn and coughed up $88.88 — $8.88 was just too weenie.
Thanks for the noodge and for making it easy.
I really appreciate blogs such as yours. I’m a single father of a son and daughter and sometimes it’s hard to tackle some issues without a balance of a father and mother in a family.
Thanks Again!
Doug
Thanks again! I just noticed that you did all those backlinks too. We are going to do a post about the 8.88 campaign.

In my correspondence with Douglas Karr today, he pointed me towards Paul Sanchez’ 8 Wishes campaign.
Paul hopes to raise $1 million which will go to 100 kids suffering from dyslexia in the form of $10,000 scholarships. This is his first wish. Bes…
