Searching for Blog Posts with Google Blog Search

This morning I posted about using Technorati to search blog posts. Today, Hitwise reports that Google Blog Searches have now surpassed Technorati blog searches.

Unfortunately, Google’s Search is accomplished through a more complex querystring and not simply by utilizing the URL path, but it works largely the same as Technorati’s. As with Technorati, you can also subscribe to the RSS feed of the search. Again, this is a great tool for creating ‘news alerts’ for yourself via RSS.

I’ve not compared the results in detail yet. At first glance, it appears that Google may be fully leveraging it’s capacity and finding entries much sooner than Technorati, though. That may not be good news for Technorati!

Yesterday I showed you a search for Adobe and Apollo in Technorati. Here’s the same search with Google Blog Search and the result. Interestingly enough, look what comes up first?! Hmmmm.

Google Blog Search
is still beta. You’ll see in the snapshot above that a couple images never resolved. When I tried to refresh the page a few times, I was redirected to a 404 page as well.
