Have you been Dugg on Digg?
Just because you’ve been dugg doesn’t mean you’re going to see a huge volume of hits… but it is interesting to see who has dugg you and why. I noticed that I was getting some hits this week from Digg.com. Google Analytics is funky sometimes when you want to track down the referral link. Digg is also funky… especially if your link is up and coming. It may not be on the page that referred you by the time you check.
How can you find your stories on Digg? You can utilize their search:
Search for douglaskarr.com on Digg - and make sure you Digg those stories!
You can click on that link and see all of my stories that have been dugg. To customize for your website, edit the URL in your address bar and substitute your URL where I have douglaskarr.com written. Keep that URL handy so you can look for yourself once in a while! I have mine bookmarked.
Generate your own:
http://www.digg.com/search?s=YourURL&submit=Search&type=url&area=all&age=all&sort=new
Here’s the search link and querystring broken down:
- http://www.digg.com/search? - the search page
- s=YourURL - replace with your URL
- &submit=Search - you’re submission
- &type=url - this tells the Digg search engine that you’re searching by URL
- &area=all - search all of the areas
- &age=all - return any article, any age
- &sort=new - return the newest articles first
I’m sure Digg doesn’t appreciate this tip! However, you can execute the same search through Digg’s search form so I think it’s okay!
